Do I keep my royalties?
Yes, all of them. Your book is published in accounts that belong to you, so the platforms pay you directly. We do not take a percentage of your sales.
Which platforms will my book be on?
Usually Amazon (Kindle and print, on amazon.co.uk and every other Amazon store), Apple Books, Kobo and Google Play Books, plus IngramSpark, which lets bookshops such as Waterstones order your book and reaches libraries and online retailers worldwide.
Do I need my own ISBN?
We recommend owning your ISBNs so you are listed as the publisher. We will walk you through buying them from Nielsen, the official ISBN agency for the UK and Ireland, and assign one to each format of your book.
What is legal deposit?
UK law asks every publisher to send one copy of each new print book to the British Library within a month of publication. We prepare it for you, and handle any requests from the other five legal deposit libraries.
Will Amazon take US tax from my royalties?
Not if the tax forms are done properly. UK authors complete a short tax interview (form W-8BEN) in their Amazon account to claim the UK and US tax treaty rate, and we walk you through it step by step.
How long does it take to publish?
Once your manuscript and cover are final, most books are live within 2 to 4 weeks, including time for you to approve printed proofs.
