Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 1 October 2026
These terms apply to your use of this website and to services provided by Legacy Harbor Publishing Ltd ("Legacy Harbor Publishing", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales, whose registered office is at Suite 4, 123 High Street, London EC1A 1BB, United Kingdom. Each project is also covered by a written agreement or quote. If that agreement and these terms differ, the project agreement applies.
1. Our services
We provide writing, editing, design, typesetting, publishing support, audio, video, website and marketing services for authors. The exact scope, deliverables, timeline and price for your project are set out in your quote or agreement.
2. Quotes and payment
Quotes are in pounds sterling and show clearly whether VAT is included. They are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Work begins once the agreement is accepted and the first payment is received. Larger projects may be paid in stages. Late payments may pause work on your project until they are settled.
3. Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer and you agreed your project with us online, by email or by phone, you have the right to cancel within 14 days without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. If you ask us to start work during those 14 days, you will pay for the work done up to the time you tell us you are cancelling. How this works in practice is explained in our Refund Policy.
4. Your responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate information and materials on time, to review drafts within the agreed period, and to confirm that anything you give us (text, images, quotations, trade marks) is yours to use or properly licensed.
5. Ownership and rights
Once your project is paid in full, you own the final deliverables created for you, including the manuscript, cover design and illustrations, as described in your agreement. You keep the copyright in your book and 100% of the royalties from its sales. Our writers waive their moral right to be identified as author of ghostwritten work. Licensed stock images and fonts remain subject to their licence terms, which we pass on to you.
6. Confidentiality
We keep your manuscript and project information confidential and never claim authorship of your work. We may show your finished cover or book in our portfolio only with your permission.
7. Revisions
Each service includes the revision rounds stated in your agreement. Changes that go beyond the agreed scope, such as a new direction after approval, may be quoted separately.
8. Results
We work hard to help your book succeed, but we cannot guarantee sales, rankings, reviews, awards or acceptance by any retailer, agent or publisher, because these depend on factors outside our control.
9. Third-party platforms
Platforms such as Amazon, Apple Books, Kobo and Audible have their own rules, fees and review processes. We are not responsible for their decisions, delays or policy changes.
10. Cancellation after the first 14 days
You may cancel a project in writing at any time. Work already delivered and costs already paid to third parties are charged as set out in our Refund Policy.
11. Our responsibility to you
We will carry out our services with reasonable care and skill, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Apart from that, our total liability for any claim relating to a project is limited to the amount you paid for that project, and we are not responsible for loss of profit or business opportunity. None of this affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Website use
You may not copy, scrape or misuse the content of this website. The Legacy Harbor Publishing name, logo and site content belong to us.
13. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, please tell us first at [email protected]. We will acknowledge your complaint within three working days and aim to resolve it within 14 days.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also bring proceedings in the courts where you live.
15. Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time. Questions? Email [email protected] or call 020 7946 0147.
